About this artwork
This work explores symbolism through the use of reclaimed pallet wood pieces and oil.
When you do a job you enjoy, you don't feel like you're working, you feel like you're playing. People's conception of "work" differs; what is considered work for one person may be considered fun for another (cultural relativism).
In addition, the word "work" could have a negative aspect in the subconscious. This work therefore invites us to do the "work" that… we like, to "have fun" instead of "working".
The shades of blue and purple allude to the third eye chakra whose function is to open the mind in order to take a step back from life's experiences and also to the crown chakra which links with the spiritual, the cosmos and the infinite.
Looking at this painting, one feels an energy that inspires one to rethink the everyday, bringing new momentum to any space.
Mohamed Lamine Sylla, with roots in cabinetmaking and lighting design, skillfully uses recycled wood painted with oil. Embracing contradictions and eco-responsibility, his techniques fuse repurposed objects, paintings, and furniture into thoughtful, three-dimensional compositions. His works invite contemplative reflection on love, spirituality, and environmental protection. Having been passionate about photography for a very long time, in 2025 he decided to share his passion through the most beautiful shots he had captured a few years earlier.
