About this artwork
In this work, I explore the vibrant and raw energy of abstract art, while integrating figurative elements to anchor the emotional turmoil. I acquired these mini sculptures to both add beauty to my painting and to highlight the work of our little-known local artisans; in purchasing them, I also think of the families of the painters, sculptors and wood collectors who indirectly benefit from this enhancement.
Using oils, I layered bold colors and impetuous… textures that interact with the strategically placed figures, which seem to emerge from the tumult. This painting is a hymn to diversity and individual expression, a celebration of the human spirit beyond turbulence. The burst of colors reminiscent of the astral world will bring dynamism and depth to any living space, inviting viewers to a personal reflection on the harmonious coexistence of differences.
Mohamed Lamine Sylla, with roots in cabinetmaking and lighting design, skillfully uses recycled wood painted with oil. Embracing contradictions and eco-responsibility, his techniques fuse repurposed objects, paintings, and furniture into thoughtful, three-dimensional compositions. His works invite contemplative reflection on love, spirituality, and environmental protection. Having been passionate about photography for a very long time, in 2025 he decided to share his passion through the most beautiful shots he had captured a few years earlier.
