About this artwork
the work expresses episodes that feature key contemporary themes. Between all the good and the bad. Love and hate.
The atmosphere characterizes the staging of a place that recalls the many wars that are fought today, marked by blood by eternal conflicts that pit the faithful of different religions against each other. The innocent are often hit in the middle.
The stage action focuses on the battle between “Angels and Demons”. Ideological and spiritual… conflicts, epic and amorous motifs, religious and profane intentions, intertwine in a convulsive, intense manner. I wanted to focus on suggestions, sounds and actions, which open up to an imaginary of war which inevitably leads back to events that happen close to us, which expose us to terror, to hatred.

Monica Catto, a contemporary impressionist painter with 25 years of experience, blends tradition and innovation in works that explore the dynamics between light and shadow. Rooted in family heritage, she works with oil, acrylic and cold wax, applied with brushes, spatulas and rollers to create textures that capture the viewer. Her creations go beyond landscape and portraiture, becoming emotional reflections that invite a deep awareness of urban evolution and the interiority of the human being. Among her most significant works are the "Leonardeschi", permanently exhibited at the Museo Mostra Leonardo da Vinci in Venice, and a collection of landscapes of the city of Desio, exhibited at Banca BPM in Desio. Monica Catto continues to innovate the impressionist language, creating works that speak to the heart and mind.
