About this artwork
This painting is called 'Jungle". The jungle is one of the most important ecosystems on the planet. Its destruction leads to soil erosion, reduction of flora and fauna species, ecological balance change over large areas and the world at large. About 6% of the planet's solid surface is classified as jungle. It rains heavily in those areas and therefore, some regions are always flooded.
In contrast to this, there are also parts of big cities which… can be described as a jungle. Those concrete jungles, consisting of many apartment buildings, very close one to each other are without trees or gras at all with just little space in between.
« As an environmental planner, my propulsion is the conservation of nature and its beauty. Thus, my art shows a variety of natural highlights in an abstract way. »
Monika Kovatsch is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United States. Her modern interpretations of abstract art center on the themes of climate change, the future, and nature. Kovatsch's atmospheric compositions capture "reflectance, light, and the mood of natural scenes". She primarily creates using acrylics on canvas.
