This feels like one of those moments where I’m moving through a place and realizing I’m also moving through myself. The land isn’t calm, but it isn’t fighting either—it’s shifting, breathing, figuring things out as it goes. I painted this the way I experience life lately: layers of doubt, bursts of color that show up unexpectedly, paths that don’t stay straight for long. There’s no destination here, just the act of continuing—step by step—through…

Monique J Dufour is a Canadian self-taught artist based in Spain, who has exhibited her work throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Whilst on a trip to France in 2013, she picked up a paintbrush and never looked back, now busying herself daily with her luminous, intriguing abstract compositions. Dufour is guided by divine energy and the thrill of creativity, and seeks primarily to move others through her artistic practice.
