About this artwork
What interests me the most in a work is pulling out luminosity and depth in a piece. This painting has just the right combination of both: visual interest, depth from layers, and enough contrast and mark-making to create the glow that I'm always looking for. The interplay of cool tones against the warm light for me, is an ideal juxtaposition of elements to encourage gazing and pondering from the viewer.
