About this artwork
The series of images with the geometric patterns thematizes the way in which the human brain assembles and constructs reality. In an apparently unconscious process, the brain perceives objects, assembles the components, adjusts them to one another, emphasizes certain elements and hides others. Our brain creates an apparently coherent structure of reality. My series of pictures underlines the constructed character of this process.

Moritz Jäger is an established Swiss artist with national exposure. His paintings address the thought patterns in which the human being perceives his surroundings, assigns meaning to the objects in them, and puts the whole into a seemingly closed system. Oscillating between surrealism and geometric abstraction, his painting offer an exploratory critique of the way we perceive and interact with the world around us, offering new opportunities for sight and interpretation.
