This sculpture unites the raw permanence of concrete with the intricate warmth of a traditional carpet motif, creating a dialogue between endurance and memory. The printed rug pattern wraps the rigid form like a second skin, transforming an industrial material into a vessel of heritage and emotion.
For me, as an Azerbaijani, the carpet is more than ornamentation—it is lineage, identity,… and the encoded language of my ancestors. By embedding this pattern into concrete, I anchor those roots in a contemporary form, preserving what is delicate within something unyielding.
The work stands as a reminder that tradition does not fade; it adapts, reshapes, and finds new surfaces on which to breathe. Even within modern materials, the spirit of home continues to speak, woven tightly into every fracture and edge.
