This sculpture explores the tension between permanence and fragility by fusing a concrete form with the printed memory of a woven carpet. The cornered shape suggests both protection and pressure—an architectural fragment that holds onto patterns inherited from another world. In this meeting of materials, tradition becomes an imprint rather than an object, surviving as surface, texture, and echo.
The carpet motif, once soft and… fluid, is locked into rigid boundaries, calling attention to how cultural symbols transform as they migrate across contexts. What was once woven with threads is now embedded in stone, simultaneously preserved and estranged from its origin. This shift invites viewers to reflect on the permanence we assign to cultural identity and the ways it is inevitably reshaped.
