About this artwork
In this work I explore the complex experiences of a woman in conflict between self-sacrifice and the need for self-realization. The representations of the female body curled up in a fetal position, which also resembles a nest as a future home for chicks, convey both the desire to give up the burdensome obligations of motherhood and the need to create a safe space for children's development.
In this work I used charcoal to explore emotional and… spiritual depth, depicting an inner journey through enveloping shapes and shadows. Each stroke is a symbol of inner struggle, transformation and personal rebirth.
This work will add a unique intensity and a deep sense of contemplation to any space in which it is placed.
