In this diptych, I poured my heart into conveying the connection between living beings through surreal, symbolic images of horses. The portraits were drawn digitally in a naturalistic manner and then printed on heavy art paper. I added the mane with white graphite pencil and completed the composition with a collage of fragments of golden circles. The work depicts two twin horses whose manes intertwine, symbolizing an invisible, silent, yet powerful… bond between them.
I wanted the viewer to sense the mystical harmony and serenity that arise from this connection and to reflect on the invisible bonds that unite us all. The work fills the space with a calm, mysterious energy, inviting reflection.

Natalia Nik is a contemporary artist based in Budapest, originally from Russia. Working across mixed media, she combines digital drawing with traditional techniques to create contemplative works characterized by softness, atmospheric depth, and poetic restraint. Her practice explores states of reverie and suspension between reality and imagination, where form gradually dissolves into mood and inner presence. Natalia’s work encompasses landscape, portraiture, symbolic animal imagery, and abstract explorations, all unified by a quiet, introspective approach. Her works have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections in Europe and beyond.
