About this artwork
This work speaks of the state when you allow life to flow through you — like a river that cleanses and fills, alive and pulsing. Within the movement of colors, the translucent layers, and the shifting light lies an inner sense of harmony.
There is no struggle here, only trust. The gold of warmth merges with the depth of blue — like the meeting of light and shadow within the human soul. Fire does not burn but illuminates the path; water does not dissolve… but carries. This current is about unity with something greater than oneself — about the moment when you stop controlling and simply feel how everything in the world breathes with you.
Technically, the work is created with acrylic on canvas, enriched with metallic paints that respond to light, creating a shimmering depth and fluidity. The surface seems alive, changing with the angle of view, as if it breathes in rhythm with the flow of color.
Natalia Shutiak is a Ukrainian abstract artist living and working in Chicago. She holds a Master’s degree in Art Education and has over twenty years of professional experience in visual communication and creative practice. Since relocating to the United States, she has fully devoted herself to painting.
Working primarily with oil and acrylic on canvas, she approaches abstraction as a way of staying honest with herself. Her paintings emerge from an attentive listening to inner emotional states shaped by change, uncertainty, and personal transformation. Through color, gesture, and texture, she traces these internal shifts until they find their own form on the surface.
Her work often explores the fragile boundary between what is revealed and what remains hidden, creating space for quiet reflection and an intimate dialogue with the viewer. Her paintings are held in private collections in Ukraine, Europe, and the United States.
