In Tangled Constellations, Nathalie Gribinski orchestrates a carnival of characters—each uniquely expressive—caught in a dance of playful entanglement. Black cords snake through the composition like lifelines or constellations, linking the vibrant figures in a nonlinear, almost musical path across the dotted universe.
Every character is its world: a flower-headed dreamer in yellow and green, an apple-headed dancer in green and red, a figure walking… upside down in blue and gold, and others dressed in fantastical combinations of color and posture. There’s a surreal theatricality to their gestures—arms flung wide, legs bent mid-motion—as if each one is performing in their orbit.
The background is a sky of dots—black, precise, infinite—like a celestial map behind the human choreography. Despite the lack of faces, emotion pulses through the composition. Connection is felt through movement, proximity, and the shared current of the black ribbon that joins them.
