About this artwork
In this work, I passionately explored textures and emotions through acrylic, collage, spray and wax chalk.
Nothing incredible at the moment!
The idea was above all to start with rather undisciplined collage elements.
Without much prior thought.
Generate a rich background based on visual displays and layers.
Subsequently, the painting takes on a deeper dimension.
The (quick) gesture glides better and I decide to create my character by mixing… materials, scribbles, solid colors, and lines directly on the canvas.
No questions to ask, everything is mixed live.
THE
Little foot in black and white (at the bottom) is “his” little foot. The only figurative thing there was on the canvas before my painting intervention.
This will be the name of the work…
Note the presence of gold paint which enhances the look of the character!
Enjoy

« A Dutch client once taught me that NEP means false in Dutch. I find it meaningful because I like this absurd and uninhibited side in my work »
NEP is an experienced French painter with national and international exposure. Driven by the feeling that his work is an endless inner journey, he conveys his dreams and anxieties in each composition, usually unconsciously. Painting in a neo-expressionist style, he achieves an aesthetic that displays the influence of children's drawings and ultimately presents a chaotic yet rich visual journey.
