This photo is subtly linked to David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" in several symbolic and atmospheric aspects:
- Composition and fragmented space: the photo plays on a fragmented architecture and an impossible perspective. The windows, normally points of opening to the outside, seem to float or be detached from the walls, creating a
feeling of disorientation. This absence of fixed landmarks evokes a world where the laws of physics are no longer quite… the same, which corresponds well to the idea of an unknown elsewhere.
2. Light and shadows: a play on reality and illusion. The light that passes through certain windows creates marked contrasts, accentuating the dramatic and mysterious effect. However, these projected shadows are also destabilizing: they
