About this artwork
This painting is an attempt to convey the glowering aspect of the Glencoe range on the West coast of Scotland. It was painted by the artist in his studio after returning from a week long stay in the Highlands collecting material for it (at least half of this time was spent sheltering from rain in a tent on the hillside opposite!). The material included sketches, watercolours and photos - all of which were then used to create a collage of the landscape…
as the basis for the painting.
