About this artwork
Ce ce and I met at yoga classes at Chelsea Piers, in Manhattan. We'd known each other for a couple of years at the time I started this painting, but not very well. She came to the studio one evening in the summer and posed for a few drawings and a painting. Was nice to sit quietly in the old industrial space overlooking the Hudson River on a warm night and be present with each other, and in doing so step out of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan…
