This is a large scale painting on unstretched canvas, the dimensions refer to the stretched work, the actual dimensions are 180x160cm, leaving a 10cm border on all sides for stretching. Securely shipped in a tube.
The painting started on the floor, a canvas to mop up spills and accidents from other projects. The artist has a fascination with how a painting can evolve by itself over time, how the bits round the edges and the studio wall become more… interesting than something too much thought bout or planned. The canvas was moved to the wall for the final layers and the addition of the stencilled text to add a narrative, one that is very open to interpretation.
