This painting is unstretched and ships rolled in a tube.
Sometimes I paint something and just think it's too awful, too extreme, so I roll it up and hide it away. But then when I find it again I love it! I can't really remember what this one was about, something along the lines of I never imagined things would end up like this, and I know I was listening to The Velvet Underground song "Ocean". Anyway, whatever it was about, it contains a huge amount… of energy!

« I want the viewer to take what they want from the painting. »
Niki Hare is a self-taught British artist who has exhibited her work internationally. Principally exploring ideas of existence and the individual’s perception, she
spontaneously creates works that play with layers and narratives, offering a multitude of potential interpretations in her emphasis on the temporary. Hare's pieces ultimately act as a visual diary, and appear bright, intentional and complex.
