About this artwork
Mixed media and collage on 200GSM Fabriano Accademia paper. The painting is unframed and ships in a tube, it will require framing and I would suggest it to be floated behind plexiglass rather than squashed flat. The bumps in the paper are part of it's character!
This was a follow on from the first Ocean painting, I think I had so much fun on the first I thought I would do another. The inspiration was the song Ocean by The Velvet Underground. It… was originally signed and dated 2018, but then I added to it in 2019 and the year was altered.

« I want the viewer to take what they want from the painting. »
Niki Hare is a self-taught British artist who has exhibited her work internationally. Principally exploring ideas of existence and the individual’s perception, she
spontaneously creates works that play with layers and narratives, offering a multitude of potential interpretations in her emphasis on the temporary. Hare's pieces ultimately act as a visual diary, and appear bright, intentional and complex.
