About this artwork
This was an experiment with using number stencils instead of letters, I like the number/ letter shapes just for themselves, so does it matter if it says anything or not?
I like the minimal nature of this painting, the white is the off white of raw canvas primed with clear gesso and how the black comes onto the white a bit and picks up on the texture of the wall I stapled the canvas to. Another detail that interests me is the disintegrating six, it… feels like a shadow.

« I want the viewer to take what they want from the painting. »
Niki Hare is a self-taught British artist who has exhibited her work internationally. Principally exploring ideas of existence and the individual’s perception, she
spontaneously creates works that play with layers and narratives, offering a multitude of potential interpretations in her emphasis on the temporary. Hare's pieces ultimately act as a visual diary, and appear bright, intentional and complex.
