The artist doesn't really like to talk to much about where the ideas for a painting come from, or talk in the third person. However she feels in this case she should explain that the painting was inspired by the idea that the experience of something really bad… can create somehow a freedom. I guess it's just that nothing can get worse so you have less to fear.
The worst was the artist's Dad dying, just something wonderful that was always there, and then not there. Shit happens, we all die in the end, but close up it changes your take on things.
