About this artwork
Helene is the eighth image in the Les Femmes series. The top layer, printed on foil, is a digital collage of a woman's face and a subsequent processing. This is superimposed on a stitched collage made from fragments of gel plate prints, sewn together with a sewing machine. The two overlapping layers give the image a completely different depth.
