About this artwork
Silent Collision captures the moment where opposing forces meet—not with noise, but with quiet intensity.
Soft whites open the space, creating a sense of calm and clarity. Through this stillness, flowing structures of deep black, muted red, and shimmering gold begin to emerge—colliding, blending, and transforming into something new.
The composition feels like a meeting point between control and release. Gold elements move through the surface like… energy currents, adding depth and refinement, while the darker tones ground the work with strength and presence.
There is movement, but it is not aggressive—it is deliberate, almost meditative. The eye is guided across the canvas, discovering new layers and transitions with every glance.
Silent Collision is not a statement of chaos, but of balance—where contrast becomes harmony.
This work is created for collectors who value subtle power, sophistication, and timeless aesthetic presence.
More than two decades ago, Franziska and Mercedes Welte began their artistic collaboration in a small attic studio—driven by intuition, discipline, and a clear vision. From this emerged NONOS: a fusion of form and color into a distinctive contemporary visual language.
What began with early sculptural works evolved into a focused body of work with strong international relevance. Their practice units movement, lightness, and structural precision—positioned between sculpture, painting, and spatial experience.
Today, NONOS is present in international exhibitions, including the Biennale Arte Venice and Art Basel Week Miami. Their works speak a universal language and are valued by collectors, architects, and curators worldwide.
Their collaboration is defined by a unique duality: Franziska shapes form, Mercedes develops color—creating a precise dialogue. NONOS stands for a contemporary feminine avant-garde with lasting cultural and material significance.
