About this artwork
Following from the paintings I created for Visitation 1 and 2, I felt the urge to scale up the work and focus on the cloud formations, taking cues from the works of C.Y Twombly’s dripping clouds. My cloud objects take on a more robust colour scheme. I am attracted to intense colour combinations from looking at lichen I found on Google, resembling backgrounds to old masters that I might have seen at the Prado museum. They were wonderful to paint these…
colours, and not as difficult as one might seem, but only knowing how to achieve these by experimenting a number of different techniques.
