About this artwork
This large-scale ink and color painting presents blossoming hibiscus rising from a monumental scholar’s rock, accompanied by a small bird quietly perched at the edge. The composition balances density and openness: the rock anchors the lower half with textured, weathered ink, while the blossoms disperse above in soft pink clusters, gently dissolving into mist.
In Chinese tradition, hibiscus carries connotations of transient beauty, while the rock… symbolizes endurance & contemplation, associated with the cultivated life. Their juxtaposition creates a dialogue between permanence and ephemerality, suggesting a reflective awareness of time rather than a celebration of abundance alone.
The spatial rhythm follows a subtle internal order akin to a meditative feng shui: weight settles below, while energy rises and disperses upward, allowing the eye to move without obstruction. The small bird introduces a human scale of presence, grounding the scene in quiet observation.

Based in Jinan, he operates at the intersection of a twenty-year-old painting collective and cross-border digital platforms, building recognition for mid-career Chinese ink painters directly with European and North American collectors through livestreaming, independent e-commerce, and knowledge-based content.
