About this artwork
This original granite and optical glass sculpture is hand carved by the Bulgarian national famous contemporary professional sculptor, deeply inspired by naturalism, geometry and formalism. It has an authentic natural charm, mixed with the delicate artistic signature and skills.
Granite is an igneous rock with up to 60% quartz by volume. It is massive, hard and tough, and that's why it forms the basement of all land continents on Earth. Its structure… carries the formula of the planet, speaks about its ancient history and formation. As the sea and the water drop are one, the Earth and the granitic rock are one too. And as granite material is uncompromisingly hard, the artist's concept has to be as uncompromisingly clear too. Otherwise granite will always resist to its new form. There has to be a dialog between the artist and the material. This artwork is based on this concept. It is one extraordinary masterpiece and valuable home decor.

Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
