About this artwork
This original limestone and gneiss sculpture is one of the latest artworks by the contemporary Bulgarian professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov. In crafting this sculpture, he has harnessed the contrast between enduring stone and the transience of forms worn by time and elements. The piece juxtaposes a solid, rising structure against a backdrop of irregularly eroded stone, symbolizing resilience amidst the erosive cycles of life, reminding us of the…
ancient Aztec symbol for reed. This artwork invites contemplation on stability and change, infusing your space with a profound, meditative energy that encourages reflection on the enduring amidst the ephemeral.

« Sculpture is my main way of thinking, my method of communication, my way of living... »
Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
