About this artwork
In crafting this painting, I delved deeply into the interplay of light and emotion, using watercolor and gouache to bring out the vivid yet subtle intensities of human expression. My aim was to capture the poignant mix of strength and vulnerability that defines the human spirit. With strokes of impressionism and a dash of realism, I wanted to evoke a timeless sense, allowing the viewer to feel a personal connection and an emotional resonance that… lingers, enriching their space with depth and sensitivity.
The work was painted from a live model 30 years ago on paper with watercolor and gouache. Then it was glued onto a piece of paper. The exact size of the painting is 39x54.5 cm, together with paper 46.5x63 cm. The work was stored in a cardboard folder. The paper on which the work is glued is a little wrinkled, but the piece looks smooth. In a frame with a passepartout, I think the painting will look very good.
I will frame it in a frame with acrylic glass if necessary.
