Underwater painting a new fast growing direction in contemporary art. Artwork was created straight underwater during scuba diving at the depth of 6 meters, underwater painting session 80 minutes.
By influence of underwater environment, feeling of no gravity, colorful impression, another reality - It feels different, brain works different, colors and shapes just blows your mind and you feel kind of explosion.
Thousands of silver fish flow in a… stream in deep blue water. Sun light paints the fish with yellow, blue, green shades.
What is special about underwater painting - color perception different to reality because color rays do not penetrate the water column. On the surface it is always surprise.

« I love to take underwater pictures but I feel that it is not enough to communicate my admiration for the Red Sea. I realize I can do it only through my soul – through my painting. »
Olga Nikitina is a Russian painter involved in the growing field of underwater painting. After moving to Egypt and working as a scuba diver instructor in the Red Sea, Nikitina fell in love with the vibrant corals and marine life in contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. Totally immersed in the marine environment, Nikitina paints using a special canvas cover and non toxic oil paints, thanks to Andre Laban, the original pioneer of the practice and the engineer of Jacques Cousteau’s team. She hopes that her work will inspire others to appreciate these treasures, spread awareness about the changes to our ocean ecosystems, and protect them for future generations to come.
