About this artwork
This acrylic painting dates back to the time when I was shooting film photography. During a trip to Los Angeles, I found myself in a hotel where Led Zeppelin had stayed. This photo was taken from the window where we could hear the police sirens.
Olivier Legrain, an artist trained at Saint-Luc Brussels, is a master of gouache, acrylic, digital media, pencil, and oil, constantly blending traditional techniques with innovative approaches. He explores a plurality of styles and visual contexts, favoring light, atmosphere, and cinematic framing to create open and narrative scenes. His approach is experimental, free from adherence to a single signature style, emphasizing raw emotion. Through his works, he conveys human fragility, isolation, and unease, evoking a poetic tension between everyday reality and dreamlike worlds.
