About this artwork
In creating this work, I wanted to evoke a fusion between tradition and modernity. Using acrylic, collage and gold leaf, I depicted a moment of contemplative solitude, enriched by the stylistic elegance of pop art and the symbolic. The texture reminiscent of old stamps adds a sense of nostalgia, almost like a memory that fades but remains golden and precious. This painting is an invitation to reflect on the ephemeral beauty of encounters and intertwining… cultures, bringing reflective energy and a touch of nostalgic luxury to any environment.
Oscar Baccilieri, born in 1965 in Reggio Emilia, develops artistically through different media such as canvas, cashmere, beeswax, marble, blotting paper, and copper, transforming the material into an intense exercise of creativity and aesthetics. He works with an enigmatic, playful and ludic aesthetic, using collage, watercolor, and acid painting techniques, mixing figurative and abstract aspects in his works. With his works, Baccilieri reveals a world rich in interpretation and meaning, inviting the viewer to look with curiosity and to reflect on our daily reality.
