About this artwork
This work was created on a copper plate through various acid etching steps in which I obtain the characteristic emerald or black color of copper through oxidation.
I don't use any kind of color but only acids that give a different note to the surface.
Objects, decomposed and confused with the background, almost completely disappear in the Raschiamenti, a real act of cancellation that aims to erase the baggage of memories to create a tabula rasa… on which to start designing from scratch.

Oscar Baccilieri, born in 1965 in Reggio Emilia, develops artistically through different media such as canvas, cashmere, beeswax, marble, blotting paper, and copper, transforming the material into an intense exercise of creativity and aesthetics. He works with an enigmatic, playful and ludic aesthetic, using collage, watercolor, and acid painting techniques, mixing figurative and abstract aspects in his works. With his works, Baccilieri reveals a world rich in interpretation and meaning, inviting the viewer to look with curiosity and to reflect on our daily reality.
