About this artwork
In my work, I have fused acrylic, oil, silicone collage and gold leaf techniques to create a lively and playful interpretation influenced by figurative, comics and pop art. This representation of a bath duck perched on a pile of dripping 33 rpm LPs is a universal symbol of childish joy, but also a reference to a famous folk song entitled "Il ballo del Qua Qua", emerges vibrantly on a golden background that evokes luxury and celebration. I intend… to convey joy and nostalgia, evoking a sense of pure fun and wonder that can brighten up any home environment with a touch of light irreverence.
Oscar Baccilieri, born in 1965 in Reggio Emilia, develops artistically through different media such as canvas, cashmere, beeswax, marble, blotting paper, and copper, transforming the material into an intense exercise of creativity and aesthetics. He works with an enigmatic, playful and ludic aesthetic, using collage, watercolor, and acid painting techniques, mixing figurative and abstract aspects in his works. With his works, Baccilieri reveals a world rich in interpretation and meaning, inviting the viewer to look with curiosity and to reflect on our daily reality.
