About this artwork
“Rap 90s Cuarteado” refers to the paintings of royalty in Europe, where they sought their permanence and power through their portrait. This character has been modified by the passage of time, becoming ghostly, a couple of his teeth were broken, leaving him toothless, his eyes reflect absence and power.

Mexico
« An artist in motion, I always like to experiment and evolve in my work, I consider myself a fun person, sometimes I like to be irreverent in my way of expressing myself. »
Pablo Benlliure is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Mexico whose main artistic themes are inspired by the art of African and pre-Hispanic cultures, which he views as sincere and pure. In addition, Benlliure combines elements of naive art to form his own genre, which he calls "Afroprehispánico lúdico". He hopes that the combination of these elements, paired with vibrant colors, will elicit joy in the viewer.
