About this artwork
"TOC" is a work that talks about obsessive compulsive disorder, in this work the artist leaves the painting so that the materials have their own load and weight in each of the small frames, thus having some that cause anxiety to the viewer such as the work of the monochrome mosaics where we can see one in red, or another piece where they are bars of soap on the ground giving reference to the people who have to wash their hands all the time, another…
of the works are accommodated colors by tones referring to having to be arranging things perfectly as well as the work of the crooked painting where the viewer wants to accommodate it out of anxiety, among so many racks we also see one that has a phrase written with a punch on melted soap that says: I felt free by performing the actions to which I was subjected, referring to how one becomes one's own slave when falling into this disorder.

« An artist in motion, I always like to experiment and evolve in my work, I consider myself a fun person, sometimes I like to be irreverent in my way of expressing myself. »
Pablo Benlliure is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Mexico whose main artistic themes are inspired by the art of African and pre-Hispanic cultures, which he views as sincere and pure. In addition, Benlliure combines elements of naive art to form his own genre, which he calls "Afroprehispánico lúdico". He hopes that the combination of these elements, paired with vibrant colors, will elicit joy in the viewer.
