About this artwork
This artwork is my exploration of color, rhythm, and memory, inspired by the cold, snowy winters of my childhood in Lithuania—when temperatures sometimes dropped to -25°C and snowdrifts could reach up to my armpits—and the optimistic, playful spirit of 90s fashion and bold dress codes that I remember from that time.
I am constantly chasing color—its energy, depth, subtle shifts, and ability to evoke emotion. The slightly muted color palette reflects… the way memories remain vivid yet soften with time. In this piece, vibrant accents emerge against a cool, snowy landscape, creating a dialogue between childhood memories and the vivid energy of the 90s.
Through expressive brushstrokes, layered textures, and rhythmic forms, I wanted to capture more than a specific moment: the optimism, freedom, and boldness of a time that still lives in memory.

I consider myself a color chaser. I search for color not only in individual shades, but in their relationships, tension, harmony, and the emotions they awaken.
When I create, time seems to stop. I enter an intuitive space where color becomes a language of its own. I follow unexpected combinations, contrasts, and subtle shifts, searching for warmth, nostalgia, energy, calm, or something difficult to name.
Sometimes the search for color leads in the opposite direction—when color vanishes, leaving only black, white, light, and shadow, or when line becomes the language of the artwork.
Some works begin with brushstrokes on canvas or drawings on paper, then evolve through thoughtful digital manipulation, preserving the original gesture while opening new possibilities.
