About this artwork
Work inspired by a theatrical show that took place in Piazza della Signoria in Florence, under the Perseus, bronze sculpture by Benvenuto Cellini. In creating it I let the oil give life to a dialogue between expressionism and surrealism, where the human figure becomes the protagonist of a journey between the real and the imaginary. Paola Imposimato is an award-winning painter and draftsman whose works have been extensively exhibited throughout her native Italy, as well as in Austria and France. Imposimato is often inspired by portraiture (of real and imaginary characters), the range of human emotions, poetry, historical re-enactments, the world of music and theater.
