About this artwork
I created a work with a metallic gold background, a symbol of light, strength, and resilience. At the center, a female figure stands out in a gesture of silence, her hand over her mouth, as if to express the suffering and repression many women experience daily. This silent gesture becomes a cry of protest, representing all the women who, unfortunately, are forced into silence by violence, be it physical, psychological, or social. The gold surrounding… the figure is not only a decorative element, but also represents the hope for change, the light that can emerge from the darkness of suffering. The choice of technique and colors amplifies the contrast between the imposed silence and the inner strength of these women, creating a work that invites reflection and raises awareness on a topic as painful as it is urgent.
Born in Salerno, a city kissed by the sun and the sea, I undertook artistic studies with a particular focus on archaeological restoration. Growing up in a family of artists, I had the privilege of being immersed in the artistic environment from a very young age. In 2005, I moved to Assisi, where I had the opportunity to meet the maestro Elvio Marchionni, expert in the art of materials and in the use of ancient plaster techniques. Through the representation of female faces, I try to capture the intensity and complexity of human emotions, transforming internal experiences into vibrant shapes and colors. The color palette I use is imbued with vitality and energy, with a range of colors that evoke intense and vivid emotions. Colors become the language with which to express the nuances of the soul, transforming the canvas into an emotional landscape in constant evolution.
