About this artwork
In this work the artist tries to significantly mark Frida's sometimes strong and sometimes sweet features, trying to evoke past memories, all linked to her hands and her butterfly held between her fingers and a gaze that processes everything what he sees and passes in front of him... like a feeling of superiority...
'And I was strong, strong in the sun,
I thought I'd see when the day was done'

Paolo Tocchini combines ink with mixed techniques, evolving artistically over the last fifteen years. His works, born from a meticulous photographic studio, explode in "waves of color" through the use of spatula, brush, sand, chalk and tempera. Tocchini induces an emotional journey in the observer, weaving strength and fragility into female faces that honor the different beauty of women.
