About this artwork
Located on the coast of southern Finistère, Pointe de Raguenez is a place where time seems to stand still. This photograph captures the moment when the land humbly extends into the ocean, revealing Île Verte in the distance like an impregnable refuge perched on the waves. In this composition, I wanted to stage the dialogue between the elements. In the foreground, the craggy rocks, granite sentinels sculpted by the tides, bear witness to the raw power…
of Brittany. Beyond, the water is adorned with a deep, soothing blue, an almost tropical clarity. The eye is irresistibly drawn to this small inhabited island, a symbol of chosen isolation and serenity. The discreet silhouette of a white sail on the horizon underscores the vastness of the space and invites exploration, while the dappled sky of late afternoon softens the coastline. This work explores the duality between the mineral permanence and the ephemeral movement of the water.

I look with curiosity at the world around me, capturing the diversity of life through landscapes, fauna, flora, and humanity. My work doesn't seek to document reality in a raw way, but rather to reveal its hidden poetry. With the camera, my intention is profoundly pictorial. I consider the act of taking a photograph as a sketch, a foundation that I then sculpt digitally. Self-taught, I have developed my own technique through the exploration of digital tools (Lightroom and Photoshop), which serve as my palette and brushes. My goal is to erase the boundary between photography and painting. By working with textures, light, and contrasts, I seek to give my images a timeless, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Through my portraits and landscapes, I invite the viewer to slow down and perceive nature not as mere scenery, but as a living painting.
