About this artwork
At Beauval Zoo, this giant panda embodies absolute relaxation. I wanted to capture this almost human pose. The composition is centered on the animal's massive body, unexpectedly reclining on a bed of wooden planks. The pose, with its raised paws and serene expression, exudes an impression of innocence and complete well-being. The choice of black and white enhances the textures of its fur, creating a dramatic yet gentle contrast between the luminous…
white coat and the dark black patches. The background, composed of blurred rocks and indistinct vegetation, isolates the subject in its own little sanctuary, emphasizing its tranquility. The dark frame surrounding the image adds an intimate dimension, as if we were witnessing a private moment. Through this image, I continue my exploration of the simple beauty and serenity of living creatures. It is about celebrating life outside its conventional context and revealing the essence of a being at peace.

I look with curiosity at the world around me, capturing the diversity of life through landscapes, fauna, flora, and humanity. My work doesn't seek to document reality in a raw way, but rather to reveal its hidden poetry. With the camera, my intention is profoundly pictorial. I consider the act of taking a photograph as a sketch, a foundation that I then sculpt digitally. Self-taught, I have developed my own technique through the exploration of digital tools (Lightroom and Photoshop), which serve as my palette and brushes. My goal is to erase the boundary between photography and painting. By working with textures, light, and contrasts, I seek to give my images a timeless, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Through my portraits and landscapes, I invite the viewer to slow down and perceive nature not as mere scenery, but as a living painting.
