About this artwork
This work offers an exclusive immersion into the heart of one of Europe's wildest and most pristine sites: the Kakuetta Gorge, in the heart of the Basque Country. I wanted to capture the unique atmosphere of this spectacular canyon, where water and rock engage in a millennia-old duel, hidden from view. The photograph revolves around the powerful cascade of the main waterfall. The water plunges from a vertiginous limestone wall, sculpted by centuries,…
before rushing into the churning torrent that flows through the foreground. The surrounding vegetation, a lush green, acts as a setting, emphasizing the hidden and almost mystical character of this natural sanctuary. By playing on contrasts of light and texture, this image transforms a natural landscape into a dreamlike vision, inviting the viewer into a world where time seems suspended, its rhythm dictated only by the sound of the water.

I look with curiosity at the world around me, capturing the diversity of life through landscapes, fauna, flora, and humanity. My work doesn't seek to document reality in a raw way, but rather to reveal its hidden poetry. With the camera, my intention is profoundly pictorial. I consider the act of taking a photograph as a sketch, a foundation that I then sculpt digitally. Self-taught, I have developed my own technique through the exploration of digital tools (Lightroom and Photoshop), which serve as my palette and brushes. My goal is to erase the boundary between photography and painting. By working with textures, light, and contrasts, I seek to give my images a timeless, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Through my portraits and landscapes, I invite the viewer to slow down and perceive nature not as mere scenery, but as a living painting.
