About this artwork
Like the monumental sculptures of forgotten gods from Easter Island, the foreground features the outlines of interesting vibrators, sex toys in the latest designs. I was privileged to see these in the window of the erotic shop across from the Fridericianum in Kassel. These lovemaking devices were the absolute highlight of my visit to documenta in Kassel and bear the apt name "semirealistc."
Here, I use pastel chalk on cotton, primed with rabbit… glue. A technique that can be both painting and drawing.
