About this artwork
In my art I mix pastel, charcoal and tempera to create a world that is not really real. This landscape and the figure sitting on it with a toe ring on her left foot represent the interplay between man and nature. The deep greens and soft earth tones invite the viewer to immerse themselves in a calm, yet haunting, almost atmosphere.
"space is the place" is part of the series love in idleness. Love in Idleness is the poetic name of the pansy in Shakespeare's… "A Midsummer Night's Dream" that makes people drunk with love. I like the idea that something as small as a flower can influence the world. My work is about beauty, love and the complications that arise from it.
Patrick Huber is a nationally and internationally active painter, photographer and sculptor with exhibitions in Germany, Poland, Finland, China, France and the USA. He has a preference for experimental techniques. He works with pastel, vine black and beer on cotton or with cyanotype on grandma's trousseau damask. Huber's figurative-experimental art focuses on the beauty of ordinary everyday things and on the universal eroticism of nature. His art radiates nonchalance and encourages people to enjoy life unconditionally.
