About this artwork
„In our urbanized world we live and act and move around in artificially created surroundings. We are like extras, "figurants" in theater scenes not of our own making.”
The "Figurants" series explores the interaction between us and our mostly urban habitat. This relation can be harmonious, but will often also be uncomfortable and estranging, as if we are lost in a world not of our own making.
People are not presented here as individuals, but rather… as anonymous figures against the larger backdrop of urban scenery, observed with a touch or irony.
The series is composed of authentic scenes, without any attempt of staging.
This image brings a scene from Chicago, USA.
Edition of 6 in total, all sizes combined + 1 Artist Print
Canson or Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta paper
Diasec face mounting, ready to hang
Other sizes (smaller and larger) and other mountings and framing at request
