About this artwork
My wife Corien and I headed off on a winter tramp on the St James Walkway (near Lewis Pass, South Island, New Zealand). We had to avoid the high passes due to avalanche danger. At 2000m Aida Pass is a low mountain pass so was the perfect choice for a safe winter tramp. Five glorious days of no people and snowclad mountains. This Acrylic on canvas painting is a view of Aida Pass before we began our ascent.
