About this artwork
I created this piece to explore the nostalgia of the everyday and urban memory. I used vintage objects and mixed media to bring to life a city suspended in time, where realism blends with imagination. I wanted to convey that energy of hidden history that transforms any space, inviting viewers to discover invisible stories in their own homes.
Paula Garnett, painter, sculptor and conceptual artist, developed in an artistic environment between Brazil and Portugal. Her style is random, mixing techniques and media such as paintings, assemblages and paper mache, focusing on spontaneous creation. With the artistic reuse of elements considered disposable, her works imbue chromatic richness and varied materiality, provoking reflections on revaluation and sustainability. In each piece, Paula communicates a colorful but organized chaos, always leaving a feeling of incompleteness, suggestive of new beginnings.
