About this artwork
In this work, I fuse impressionism and semi-abstraction with realistic and vintage elements, using acrylic, collage, ink, and recycled objects. I capture the essence of raw emotions against the resistance of the city and time, reflected in a vibrant orange sky that contrasts with the texture and coldness of old structures and artifacts. This piece evokes a reflection on beauty and decay, the twilight of shared moments against the solidity of our… human constructions, inviting a dialogue between past and present in your space.
Paula Garnett, painter, sculptor and conceptual artist, developed in an artistic environment between Brazil and Portugal. Her style is random, mixing techniques and media such as paintings, assemblages and paper mache, focusing on spontaneous creation. With the artistic reuse of elements considered disposable, her works imbue chromatic richness and varied materiality, provoking reflections on revaluation and sustainability. In each piece, Paula communicates a colorful but organized chaos, always leaving a feeling of incompleteness, suggestive of new beginnings.
