About this artwork
"Meraki" embodies the essence of the Greek word: to do something with love, creativity, and soul, leaving a positive mark. In this work, a female pig ("Sow") flies majestically over a black and white flowery landscape. Instead of milk, a vibrant rainbow flows from her teats and descends to the earth. As the rainbow touches the ground, the once monochromatic flowers transform into a burst of brilliant color, filling the field with life and joy. The… rainbow milk symbolizes in this oil painting how we as women nourish the world physically, emotionally, and creatively with feminine energy.
"Meraki" invites us to live outside of restrictive parameters and expand the creative and nourishing potential inherent in the feminine essence, leaving a mark of positive transformation in the world.
Paula Segarra is a painter and draftsman whose art is an introspective refuge. He uses abstract and figurative techniques, creating "accidents" on his canvas that challenge academic reconstruction and drive innovation. Deeply linked to existentialism, it immerses the observer in an ocean of doubts and discoveries, exploring the duality of the human essence and the constant search for transcendence. Their vivid representations combine sensuality and terror, making us face the fragile line that separates life from death and question where our true essence lies.
